Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion have the privilege of assisting the priest during the celebration of Mass in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ. They also distribute Holy Communion to those parishioners who are homebound, in nursing homes or other circumstances that prevent them from attending Mass. Training is required and is provided on an ongoing basis.
Linda Gibbens is the coordinator for the Eucharist Ministers Ministry at Sunday 9AM Mass. Click here to email Linda if you are interested in participating in this ministry at 9AM! Anne Conner is the coordinator for the Eucharistic Ministers Ministry at Sunday 11:30AM Mass.
NOTE: SINCE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN IN PLACE, WE HAVE NOT BEEN PUBLISHING A EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS SCHEDULE (SINCE THE DISTRIBUTION OF COMMUNION IS LIMITED TO A VERY SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE). WHEN THESE RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED, WE WILL ONCE AGAIN PUBLISH THE SCHEDULE ON THIS PAGE.
Holy Communion to The Homebound
This ministry is so important. We have members of our parish who are ill or otherwise homebound and cannot come to mass. Participants in this ministry receive the Eucharist during mass and take it to these parishioners in their homes. It comforts those receiving and keeps them connected to the St. Jude community.
If you would like to participate in this ministry, please contact Fr. Pao.
